Our Birds If you are happy with and expect that kind of performance, read no further. Our chickens are broilers. They grow and have meat on their bones. For faster growth feed them more protein with higher energy. For slower growth, cut back on both. We have designed our birds to perform well on an 18% protein and 1250-1275 calorie diet. To speed up or slow down growth rate, adjust accordingly. Our chickens have been bred to be grown indoors or outdoors. If you have an outdoor program, you can start letting them outside anytime after two weeks. They are great foragers. We know each of you has you own growing program and our birds will be successful in any reasonable program. One of our customers lets them outside after four weeks to forage and supplements their diet with whole cracked corn. Nothing else.
