Golden Nugget The Golden Nugget is our table egg bird. It is a prolific egg layer, producing a good-sized brown egg with excellent shell quality. Many customers keep these birds for well over a year with total eggs approaching 300 per bird. Underneath the golden outer feathers is an amazing layer of down feathers, similar to duck or goose down. Because of this downy layer, the Golden Nugget can be raised in almost any climate, from snow to the 96 degree temperatures of Alabama. It's the best forager in our product line.
